I’m worried that Brigger left his name on the typewritten pages. If spooky guys check that, they’ll know about the briefcase and they’ll know who took it.
Now … narrative-wise, it’s likely they won’t stop them from leaving. Why? Will they try just for the elevator to close right before them? Will they “try” just without bothering to walk faster? Will they not realize they should’ve done something with them until after they check the apartment? Or will they not realize it at all and rest of the story will be about whats in the briefcase?
